FILM & MEDIA FIXER SERVICE
Reporting or filming in Bhutan can be a major source of pain. So painful only a handful of reporters and filmmakers have made it so far. Fortunately for you, we make it easy. Transformational Tours is the only tour company in Bhutan which offers professional fixer service, from permits to transport to interview appointments, to finding local actors and crew. So if you are a print or TV reporter looking to file stories from Bhutan? If you are a filmmaker looking to shoot documentaries or feature films in Bhutan— you have come to the right place.
WHY COME THROUGH A TOUR OPERATOR?
Great question. All foreign press or filmmakers wishing to cover stories from Bhutan, or do a documentary or film, are mandated by the Government of Bhutan to enter the country via a licensed local tour company. The government royalty fee or SDF per day per person is USD 100 and does not cover the tour package including fixer payment. More On Tariff.
COLUMBIA JOURNALISM SCHOOL ALUM
Our Fixer Service Department is led by one of Transformational Tours founders—Kencho Wangdi—a Columbia Journalism School Alum, a former reporter and editor of the national newspaper of Bhutan, Kuensel, and later the country’s private daily- The Journalist. Kencho Wangdi also makes TV ads, documentaries and feature films via his independent film company—Mediamax Pictures.

MAURYA GAUTAM – Al Jazeera

Kencho (of Transformational Tours) is a fabulous fixer and I have nothing but positive things to write about his work ethic and professionalism. Without his help, contacts and resourcefulness our coverage would not have been possible. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a fixer/producer for any story out of Bhutan and surrounding areas.
